Welcome to Southern Peach Boudoir! I'm Jacob, the photographer behind the camera. I created Southern Peach Boudoir to give people an opportunity to celebrate themselves through an experience that is personal, creative, and uniquely their own.
Boudoir photography can mean different things to different people. For some, it's a way to celebrate a birthday, an engagement, or another milestone. For others, it's a chance to do something outside their comfort zone, express a different side of themselves, or simply create photographs that make them feel good.
Whatever brings you here, I want you to feel welcomed, comfortable, and free to make the experience your own.
But to explain why this work matters to me, I want to share a little of my story.
A Different Way of Seeing Yourself
There was a time when I was feeling pretty down on myself after gaining some weight over the holidays. I was frustrated because I was having a hard time losing it, and my girlfriend could tell something was bothering me.
When I finally opened up to her about how I was feeling, she hugged me and said something I'll always remember:
“I understand what you're saying, but when I look at you, all I see is my Jacob.”
It was a simple statement, but it stayed with me. I was focused on the things I didn't like about myself, while someone who loved me saw the same person she had always known.
That experience helped me understand how differently we can see ourselves compared with how the people around us see us.
It's one of the reasons I value what boudoir photography can offer. Sometimes, seeing yourself in a different setting, through a different perspective, can be a meaningful experience. It isn't about becoming someone else or meeting someone else's idea of beauty. It's about making space to celebrate the person you already are.
The Moment That Stayed With Me
One of my early boudoir sessions gave me another perspective on just how meaningful that experience could be.
As I typically do during a session, I showed my client some of the images on the back of my camera. A little later, I showed her the photographs again. This time, she paused and looked at them in amazement.
Then she asked, “Who is that?”
I was confused for a moment. She was the only person in front of my camera, and I knew exactly who I had photographed.
But she wasn't asking because she didn't recognize herself in a literal sense. She was surprised by how she looked in the images.
“That's not me,” she said. “That woman is stunning!”
I told her, “It is you. This is how the world sees you. You are stunning!”
She had recently gone through a difficult divorce and was trying to find herself again. I won't share her personal story beyond that, because it's hers to tell. What stayed with me was watching her take in the images and see herself in a way she hadn't expected.
That moment reminded me that a boudoir session can be about much more than the final photographs. It can be an opportunity to pause, try something new, and experience yourself from a different perspective.
Every person's experience is different, and I would never promise that a photo session will solve someone's insecurities or change how they feel overnight. But I do believe there's value in creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to show up as themselves and enjoy the process.
What It's Like to Work With Me
You don't need modeling experience to book a boudoir session. You don't need to arrive knowing how to pose, either.
Part of my job is to take that pressure off your shoulders.
I guide you through poses, help you find what feels natural, and work with you throughout the session. My goal is to create an atmosphere that feels comfortable and welcoming, with room for a little humor along the way. You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
Communication, boundaries, and trust are especially important to me. Boudoir is a personal experience, and you should feel comfortable discussing your preferences, asking questions, and letting me know what you're comfortable with. You get to decide what feels right for you.
I want you to feel that you can be yourself rather than worrying about performing for the camera. When there's trust and communication, we can focus on creating photographs that reflect your personality and the experience you want to have.
Whether you're celebrating a milestone, planning a wedding gift, exploring your confidence, or simply curious about boudoir, you deserve an experience that respects who you are and what brought you here.
Why Southern Peach?
There's a little family history behind the name.
I was born in Georgia, but I've spent my life growing up in Florida. Naturally, my family found it amusing to tease me about being a “Georgia Peach” instead of a “Florida Orange.” Apparently, being born in Georgia means you never quite escape the peach jokes!
When it came time to name this business, Southern Peach felt like a natural fit. It brought a little of my background into the brand while giving it an identity of its own. And, of course, there's another reason the name works so well for boudoir photography. Let's be honest, the peach emoji has developed a reputation of its own! So between me being born in Georgia and a little cheeky symbolism, Southern Peach Boudoir seemed just right.
Outside of boudoir, I also enjoy travel photography, cosplay photography, and street photography. I appreciate the opportunity to capture the world around me, and that same appreciation for perspective and creativity carries into the way I approach photographing people.
